Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, CON, to Deliver Keynote Address at Public Presentation of Justice Omolaye-Ajileye’s Books and Launch of Educational Foundation

Forthcoming public presentation of two major legal publications by Hon. Justice (Prof.) Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye, PhD, FICMC, will mark an important moment in the continuing development of electronic evidence, digital law, and justice administration in Nigeria. The programme will also feature the official launch of the Justice Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye Educational Foundation for Indigent Students, an initiative established to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged students in their pursuit of quality education.

A major highlight of the occasion will be the Keynote Address by Chief Kanu Godwin Agabi, SAN, CON, former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice. Chief Agabi’s distinguished career in law, public service, governance, and justice administration gives special significance to his role at the event.

The programme is scheduled to hold as follows:

Date: Thursday, 2 July 2026
Time: 2:00 p.m. prompt
Venue: Conference Centre, National Open University of Nigeria, Jabi, Abuja.

The two books to be presented are:

Electronic Evidence, Second Edition, 2026

and

A Compendium of Cases on Electronic Evidence, Volume II, 2020–2025

The books will be reviewed by two eminent legal scholars and Senior Advocates of Nigeria: Prof. Alex A. Izinyon, SAN, and Prof. Dakas C. J. Dakas, SAN, Chairman of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission.

The public presentation will bring together members of the Bench and Bar, judicial officers, senior lawyers, academics, policymakers, technology experts, students, and other stakeholders in the justice sector. Justice Omolaye-Ajileye’s publications come at a time when courts, legal practitioners, investigators, public institutions, and academics are increasingly engaging with questions arising from electronic evidence, digital records, online transactions, computer-generated documents, forensic investigation, and technology-driven litigation.

The books are therefore timely contributions to legal scholarship and practice. They are designed to serve as useful resources for judges, lawyers, law teachers, researchers, students, investigators, and professionals involved in the administration of justice.

Beyond the presentation of the books, the launch of the Justice Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye Educational Foundation for Indigent Students will add a strong humanitarian and educational dimension to the programme. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting academically promising but financially disadvantaged students through scholarships, educational assistance, mentorship, and other interventions aimed at removing barriers to learning.
