The legal, academic, and policy communities are set to converge in Abuja for an event that promises to advance both legal scholarship and educational empowerment in Nigeria.

Two of Nigeria’s respected legal scholars and Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Professor Alex A. Izinyon, OFR, SAN, and Professor Dakas C. J. Dakas, SAN, Chairman of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission, will lead the review of two landmark publications authored by renowned jurist, scholar, and authority on electronic evidence, Hon. Justice (Prof.) Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye, (Rtd) PhD, FICMC, Visiting Professor NOUN & CEO, FEDLAC.

The event will feature the public presentation of Electronic Evidence (Second Edition, 2026) and A Compendium of Cases on Electronic Evidence, Volume II (2020–2025), two significant contributions to the growing body of literature on digital law, forensic investigation, and the administration of justice in the digital age. Professor Izinyon is widely acknowledged as one of Nigeria’s leading legal academics and advocates, with distinguished contributions to legal education, advocacy, arbitration, and jurisprudence. Professor Dakas, an internationally acclaimed scholar and legal reform expert, has made notable contributions in the fields of constitutional law, governance, public policy, and institutional reform.

Beyond the presentation of the books, the occasion will also witness the formal launch of the Justice Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye Educational Foundation for Indigent Students, a visionary initiative established to support academically promising but financially disadvantaged students in pursuing quality education. The Foundation reflects Justice Omolaye-Ajileye’s lifelong commitment to learning, mentorship, social justice, and the belief that education remains one of the most powerful tools for societal transformation. Through scholarships, educational support, mentorship opportunities, and related interventions, the Foundation seeks to remove financial barriers that hinder talented young Nigerians from achieving their full potential.

The twin event represents a unique convergence of intellectual advancement and social impact. While the books are expected to deepen legal discourse and contribute meaningfully to the development of electronic evidence jurisprudence in Nigeria, the Foundation demonstrates a practical commitment to nation-building through investment in human capital. Electronic Evidence, now in its second edition, has earned recognition as one of Nigeria’s pioneering and most authoritative texts on the admissibility, authentication, evaluation, and evidential weight of electronically generated evidence. The work has become an indispensable reference for judicial officers, legal practitioners, investigators, academics, researchers, and students navigating the increasingly complex landscape of digital evidence. Similarly, A Compendium of Cases on Electronic Evidence, Volume II (2020–2025) provides a carefully curated collection and analysis of judicial decisions that continue to shape the interpretation and application of electronic evidence law in Nigeria.

The reviews by Professors Izinyon and Dakas are expected to stimulate robust discussions on emerging legal issues at the intersection of technology, forensic investigation, judicial processes, evidence law, and the administration of justice.
